The biggest thing I really get sick of in rpg maker games is that people use 50 of the same tree in a map... GOD! Im going to try and explain a very simple way to make your own.

Very simple.
Make a leaf template like number 1 that I have made. This seems to work the best out of the dozens that i've tested.
Copy it then get your fingers ready to be hurting as you ctrl+v about 50- 100 times. Trees look good if you lay this base layer first then cover it with the leaf template with the added colors. (#2) The more time you invest the better its going to look. (duh) Maybe scatter some leaves on the ground. This is an example that took about 15 minutes, so it's kinda lame, but some amazing things can be made very easy with this simple technique.

Where can I find your templates? (Or did you a post a pic? sorry, On school comp atm and they block alot of photo-hosting sites) And yeah, I agree also. Some of it just looks too plain and over-used.

does this mean that now you need a tile set that contains at least 6 different trees on it so you can have enough variety?

if each tree is say 4 X 5 you'll need at least 30 rows added into the tile set. I think this might be why the annoying same trees are there, to help reduce tile set size, cause the larger it is the more chance of lag.

though i think i might do this, just cause these trees look so much better then the RTP ones.

Right on Mw360, trees are like people... they all look different.
How lame would that be to see the same character as the hero and an NPC and then the final boss ~HA wack.

I look forward to what you got cookin' with your game, from what I can tell you have completely customized your tileset from scratch (this tree is just an example)

Yah my tilesets are usually 256 x 2000..... I have 4 different trees then I flipped them horizontally to add alittle spice.

I've just been pixeling in my free time. Got a new computer and it runs Windows 7, so I can't get rmxp to work. Production on game game is at a stand-still, but I think I got anew idea for one that kicks my other games a*#.

If anyone trys this method pls post a .png of it. Thanks
