Shrine: Zune Zune12
It was about 4.5 years ago when I first got the Zune Classic, just like this one:

Dertbahg:
I was so eager to load some of my favorite media on my new portable player so that I could easily access it anywhere. Zune Classic wasn't touch screen, the software was limited, and the control pad couldn't scroll by making circles when you touch it. There was a few tips to trick it out and there was few frequent updates adding new features like "games" and "apps". I really enjoyed having tons of my favorite music on the road, a batch of movies that I finally have time to watch because I'm stuck waiting somewhere for some reason (like the airport). I respected it as a media player but unfortunately for Microsoft, the Zune never got past the single digits in market share. The iPod was too popular and it's apps were endless... but I was content with my new toy, whatever I was able to sync on it, played perfectly.

A year later I get a new Zune HD, like this one:

Platapuss:
It was thinner, lighter, the screen was brighter, better resolution, and had touch screen. Zunes were still limited in software/apps. There's just a few tips to trick it out and the market still wasn't much. Watching movies and playing music was just as solid as the classic but unfortunately the Zune marketplace was still limited in apps and games. Fortunately for fanatics surfaced fanmade media, endless podcasts, ways to trick things out software wise with PC connection ultimately making apps for it using XNA.

Years later I still have my zunes, loaded with my favorites, all very organized, and in decent shape.

I recently found out that Microsoft has ended the Zune players and that the software brand will turn over to XBOX music. :~x

It is said that the Zune had died but the spirit lives on, so I've built this shrine to collect all that is found and shared about the mythical Zunes.

Hopefully some genius will find a way to have the zune run windows phone 7/8 to have access to that market +++
