We all know how great XAS is, but when it comes to setting up enemies, how can we avoid making them predictable and dumb?
1)For instance, if I would like an enemy to attack me with a short range (physical) attack only when I face left or right, how can do that?
And if I want an enemy to shoot an arrow at me only when his x position is=to my x position on the screen?

Make the sensor self switch page just an "approach player" movement, and a trigger set to "event touch". After that make the event turn on a different self switch that isn't being used by the enemy, for say "B", and have it turn it on. This way the event will turn on another switch when the player touched it.
after that is set up, make the page that is turned on by the self switch you established. This page will have conditional branches that will tell the event weather or not to attack the player.
I'll throw together a demo and send it to you, i think it will make more sense on what im trying to say.

and hope that is what you meant, for the arrow thing, you can do the same thing, just make the enemy a trap enemy and the same for the side attack just different conditional branches on the page.
