Vladimir Putin was re-elected today AGAIN in Russia. The biggest staged election in the history of humanity to my opinion. pre- election, Putin went on stage said how much the country needed him, broke into tears
later recited an old famous russian poem about freedom. the only thing was the news were pro putin rallies. Its suspicious, and obvious that this election was a fraud, just like the last....
So any thoughts on the above ^ ?
Have a opinion on the upcoming American elections?
Or wish Julia Gillard (Australian PM) would finally step down as promised.
BTW: Putin >

I would have guessed that the Russian elections would be rigged. Putin is still leader and it's kind of like "vote me or we'll secretly kill you".
On the American side however, it still feels rigged. You have Ron Paul who has (as of recently checked) $983,000+ donated for his election and yet he is still last. I watch CNN almost every day and it's always about Rick and Mitt. Every time I see something on Facebook or the internet, it's ALWAYS against Rick and Mitt and yet they are the top 2 that will get the nomination for the candidacy. Newt is always on the defensive as he is always being attacked and then you have Ron Paul, who is never attacked, who never gets the cards turned on him. Ron Paul is the passive Republican and I guess America just doesn't like him because he isn't starting drama like the rest of them.

I'm sure it did at first, but now it isn't. The only thing that "the people" vote in are elections. If we want to vote in a law or something we can't except call our local senators and tell him to vote yes or no. We have 500+ people in our House of Representatives and I forget how many senators (I want to say around 60). These are the true "the people". We are just pawns who have no voice and even if we wanted a voice or gave a voice we still wouldn't be listened to. Protests have been going on in Wall Street since September 25th and nothing is being changed.

I guess democracy provides more freedom though. We can trash talk politicians all we like. Just nothing we say can really change it. It seems that everyone supports someone until they get into power. Then they just say that someone else could do a better job and ramble on about it for four years...

In Australia we have a governer general, who is a rep of the English queen. The GG has to pass every bill that the two senates also have to pass. The Senate's are made up of the parties in proportion to how many votes they received.
That wasn't off wiki, I'm surprised I still remember from 2 years ago
