Saudi Arabia prohibits women from driving, in this day and age it just doesnt make any sense. Thats almost just as silly as banning men from riding a bicycle.

I understand the concern of the world with the middle east's state of affairs, however they have lived with these preconceptions of women (and other things) for their whole lives, the women in many cases wouldn't know any better, it's sad but its true. So what I'm getting at is that cultural differences shouldn't be a reason to hate on other peoples, or to wage war on their countries, they can sort themselves out. I cant say I agree with the laws they have implemented, but a 'pure' western like society isn't the only one out there.

In Russia for example, every one is super conservative, and also homophobic, its almost a national ideology, I cant say that discriminating by sexual preference is right its just that in Russia is built in this way that excludes gays, and frankly no protestor, journalist or man with a gun can change that, until the people change, that takes years, not months.

The situation is the same in the middle east, its the way society is built and through revolution like in Egypt or political re-form they will come to a state where their society is liberal and inclusive.
