Just writing this thread to see what everyone's likes and dislikes are concerning their favorite types of battle systems. Sure ABS is a great way to hold attention, but side battle system's are also great to hold the hard-core gamers attention. What if there was a game that involved ABS and side battlers? What if there was a game that involved these two plus the old mario side scroller? What if??

LOL. Srry for the spoiler. I had the same plans here too. Quick question, would it be to hard to script a ABS into the event menu on rpgmaker? Some people (me) are to lazy or not have the time to program everything in for any abs system. Example: Make new event called Enemy ABS- Insert enemy and set hp/sp/attack/magic/etc... Is this impossible?

I like the clasic preinstalled battle system for RPG Maker XP. But XAS is what people want.

currently working on an XAS compatible platform script (mega man ^,^)
@ken - I like using both systems in my games (XAS and RMXP default)
there's a way to make them both work... I can show you if you're interested.
not everyone's in to XAS (some say it takes too many steps to setup)
some kids like Blue, prefer Blizz-ABS for an easier setup.
@Mw360 - after reading your second post ... I recall Mr.Mo's having this type
of setup for all one must do is make comments in the events.
*I too would like to create a project in where the default RMXP battle system works seamlessly with an ABS, Tactical, Side Battle, and side scrolling
all in one... sure it's possible just a mother to code.

well i was just a wanderer when it came to battle systems, i've looked at a few (Mr Mo's, BlizzABS) but then game face showed me the raw power of XAS, and by far its the best in my opinion.
No other ABS at this moment will give you the amount of control XAS offers.

If thats what you would like to do count me in. Instead of just drawing tilesets with photoshop i've found that it looks much better if I draw them on paper, scan them then photoshop it. I would really like to be a part of a team and actually finish a game then make 3 games that are 5% complete. Anyone else have any thoughts on battle systems??

rarely do I quote myself, but like I posted earlier ^
I'll continue to collect and post 'good to go' game kits
using various systems in the Jump and Run forum.
who knows... with our collective genius and brilliant ideas...
this multi-battle system just may surface through XAS.
