Better production, clever use of connecting story and character depth, with a cast that's not bad at all.
Cary Tagawa returns as Shang Tsung, (his role back in 1995)
Brian Tee as Liu Kang (Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift)
Mark "the man" Dacascos as Kung Lao (chairman from Ironchef, and many other tv and movie roles)
Casper Van Dien as Johnny Cage (also Johnny in Starship Troopers)
just to name a few.

This all came about from director Kevin Tancharoen, who made his concept short film, Mortal Kombat: Rebirth.
Warner Bros. then had him direct this 'web-series' which will also lead into the movie Mortal Kombat: Reboot 2015.

Other than the episodes being a bit short with replaying certain scenes to buy time and key characters no where to be found. I'd have to say it's a good watch. Enjoy~
