Anyone know of any new MMORPG's play? Preferably free. All I do is play LoL it gets quite boring. I have tried to get back into the old MMO's like Runescape and Maplestory but they aren't the same as they used to be. I tried WoW (and guiltily bought a $30 2-month trail card) but only played it for about a week without it getting boring. I don't mind grinding but if it has a P2W (pay-2-win) cash shop like a lot of Nexon games do then I probably won't play it.

One'z suggests getting Guild Wars 2. It's got a pretty new and innovative gameplay that's totally different to WoW. It comes out in a month. Best of all, it's one time pay only.

Hmm.. Do I just buy the game and that's it or do I need to pay by a credit card or something for just once? I'm not so sure about how it'll play on my laptop so I dont want to waste $50-60 on something that doesn't work.

Yeah the beta played well on my computer and its not that amazing (my computer). On minimal graphics the game is still enjoyable and runs pretty smoothly.

@Blue: Didn't have the money for it.
@OneSimus: My computer has a hard time running anything with only 2GB of Ram. I've been wanting to upgrade but I always forget about and I'm not sure if I can on a laptop.

There any other games in the meantime?
Also, today Runescape hit their 200,000,000th players since Runescape 2 (The current one, that's not classic) started and have also been awarded by Guinness World Records for having the largest playerbase or something.

^@ you can try:
Champions On-line 'Free for All' - Cryptic studios is just down the street from where I live, I'm looking into some career opportunities with that company who knows~ it would be awesome to have such a short commute from home and work...but yeah it's free and check it out for the heck of it. If I'm ever on (xxgamefaceXX)
Into FPS?
if you haven't tried Alien Area or War Rock give them a shot (pun intended)
both are up to date and active.
Quake Live is always a great way to keep those FPS skills sharp, fast pace!
Ah~ reminds me of the good old days with Rocket Area.
Oh and if your into games that really take you away from the real world.. be careful, make sure to blink your eyes, drink water, go to the bathroom, eat something, a few push ups here and there... here's a few games that I had to put down knowing that I would get permanently sucked in...
World of Warcraft (now free)
Perfect World
Anarchy Online
play at your own risk.
King of Kings III from hero-legion-kindom ~ haven't tried the moon goddess expansion, it's been a few years...
hack n slash?
Dynasty Warriors Online 1 v 50!? come at be bro!
3rd person shooters?
you already know about Battle Field Heroes...
check out Fire Fall it's being developed but you can request beta access... looks promising.
ooh and CrimeCraft just added in a 1st person view, which I will be checking out soon.
ACE Online
if you like to fly and shoot +
