One day, biological storage of data will be mainstream. I think..?
Check it out anyway

@Blue - I've read the article, watched the video, and read the comments...
what I gather is that "we" as in the human race, are continuously making a deeper connection with technology and biology through research, discoveries, and scientific breakthroughs.
(heck have you seen the latest on cybernetic replacements?)
Just like the hammer, this could be used to build or destroy, all depending on who gets their hands on it and what will they use it for.
Know that DNA flips the control switches for every bodily function.
To have the ability to store data means you could edit it ~ in theory.
Just recently I've learned how to hack a bios for one of my machines which came to mind the risks of turning your computer into a brick if not done right, same goes for the person with tampered DNA.
On the upside I could easily picture futuristic server rooms looking like a pet shop with various aquariums storing massive amounts of data.
thanks for sharing

Do you that at one point in history we will be able to intergrate ourselves fully with technology? Like being cyborgs of sci-fi proportions, having internet chips implanted into our minds at a certain age. Have special filters attached to the lenses of our eyes. And this biostorage thing. Have a part of our brain (hippocampus?) be able to hold additional data (like an upgrade).

i would have to say yes on the integration from tech into bio. We can already perform a bionic eye transplant. we can now grown-our-own organs in a lab to tailor fit our needs. with our own DNA. We can replace someones voice box!! compelling story. the list goes one. once we start decoding the building blocks of life, i think integrating technology should be a snap. well just reprogram or recode the gene/dna/rna what have you, and tell it what to do

Something else is that they're also starting to figure out "brain hacking". This lets whoever break into your brain through a signal and then extract information. I can't be bothered finding a link right now because my nose is running, but try look for it
