I'm sure that any of you who have played and been in the whole "MUD phase" (the old guys) would have looked up "MUD maker" at some point in internet life. But I did so there.
I took the extreme liberty (maybe not extreme enough) to try out MudMaker.com out for myself.
My first thought was actually "wow, I bet this is a waste of time". That soon changed after I made an account and got into the making part. You can do anything here. List please?:
* To Do List
* MUD stats
* Load/Delete MUD
* Editor
o MUD Info
o Areas
o Map +
o NPC +
o Items +
o Spells +
o Effects +
o Quests +
o Races
o Classes
o Skills
o Stores
o Emotes
o Extra Descriptions
o Options +
(those +'s mean there are sub options).
While making NPC's for example you can write it's description, smell, taste (uh?), feel, listen, alignment level and a whole bunch of other stuff.
It's actually quite exciting to be working with only text as all you need is imagination. Being creative to entertain the player.
Another cool feature of MudMaker is that all terms are listed in the manual. If you come across a term (like "wisdom" for example) you can click on it and it'll lead you to a detailed explanation with an example.
Perhaps the only downside is that your MUD has these limitations:
- You may run your MUD for up to 2 hours per day
- Your MUD must be smaller than 500 rooms.
- We have set a 10 server maximum on free trials.
(if there are 10 servers already running you must wait before you can initiate your free trial)
the last one bugs me.

MUD - brings back memories, before we had the 3D graphics there was simply imagination and a DOS prompt.
@swoop - dirt kick!
