I was using the odds of drawing 4 aces from a deck of cards as an example of probability.

The likelihood being scarce if you're talking about just one deck but when there are billions or trillions of decks the chances of drawing 4 aces inevitably increase.

The probability that we are the only planet that has had life develop on it is unlikely. That was all I was saying.

And to claim probability has no bearing on anything is ignorant at best, stupid at worst.

There is no proof that aliens exist - that's a given. I don't buy into UFO sightings and all that nonsense.

However, that doesn't take away from the fact that scientifically and mathematically the chances life exists on other planets is likely.
