real sport? I don't really like playing any team sport because I've always had some sort of bad experience when I messed up.
I kinda like watching Gridiron cos the plays (the only decent part) remind me of strategy games.

...if breakdancing counts... I like capture the flag. Of course, adrenaline rush depends on the rules, but still really fun to play and you can't mess up.

How is it possible to attach political stigma to a sport?

let me explain.. :

in america were so stupid to think there is integrity in our sports.. where they players get paid more than teachers.. where people demand more entertaining factors so they get what their paid for..

about 10 years ago baseball.. aka americas past-time.. was dying.. lowest ratings.. lowest fan attendance.. lowest .. well the sport sucked. 2+min intervals between innings.. and such were just wasnt what the fans were looking for. since faster.. better sports like baskeball/mma.. were on the incline!

soooo since its a damn business and bottom line is profit. the OWNERS.. decided they would make it more exciting. shortening the time between breaks.. no instant replay.. stuff that like.. but along with the ratings.. the homeruns and strike outs.. then calibre of play was also lacking.. INTRODUCE steroids.. thats right.. the owners wanted more action.. more scores.. more of more! cause the sport was boring and well.. they had to keep it interesting. so.. players.. from nobodies to somebodies all took them.. which were given by the owners to them.. and trainers.. because after all its a business and if your paying someone a couple MILLION to throw balls around you better get what you paid for.

for a time it was good. and people scored.. ran faster.. hit the ball father than ever before and threw more "K"s than ever before also.. well since baseball is a game of stats, the old timers and perhaps those that truely love the game when it was innocent. complained about how and who and what was happening because they knew, and deepdown inside they wanted the sport to success, but not if it ment having their records broken. and so stories of steriods or "PERFORMANCING ENHANCING" substances started to leak out and linger. and sooner or later.. since these bastards are supposed to be rolemodels for our kids. and its a legacy issue, the parents complained and when parents actually complain and focus on something shot gets done. and well it got our congress involved.. and sure enough.. they spent my damn TAXDOLLARS on making congress discuss the issue of drug use in a business that its purpose is to make lost of money, where the sport itself has no regulatory system to CAP the salaries of the people playin the game.. its why the yankies roster is like 180million this year. So long stupid story short, its political, because were so bored as a country and were not afflicted by constant social welfare problems that we waste money our a dying sport just because we think its where our kids should look up too
