Yeah fast 1 TB will do wonders..
SATA is a type of plug used for modern drive, when putting your build together you might find that you will not have a compatible cable for the older drives you have salvaged.

Once you have installed windows you can see your specification's through system info, unless you have the original packaging or can hook them up to a different computer I don't know how.

I was doing some research on the drives for speed and I came across these pages:

WD = 1700 rpm Sata1(I think.)
Seagate(Barracuda 7200.11)= 1700 rpm
Hitachi Travelstar(laptop) 5400 RPM = rpm [2 partitions. From my old laptop.]Sata1

Not sure which is faster.
My money is on the Seagate I can't seem to find the s ata version.
I think its 3. But I know there are better drives.

I came across a steal on ebay.
i7 intel for 128 bucks.

Its the lowest i7 possible though.
I may in the future save for extreme or whatever else intel
comes with.

I'm trying to invest in one of those flat, flash like hard drives made by samsung. I'm still confused on the graphics card I should get. In addition to that I need a water cooler and 4 more 4 gig ram sticks to make 24 gigs(max) ram. Maybe when I'm finished with this one, I may put together a lower end rig and sell it for some cash seeing that I have 2 extra motherboards.
I got a ps4 controller as a pc controller. Its sort of comfortable. Analogs are a bit slippery at times(pacman/fallout nv). I got a tower that looks nice. Maybe when I wake up I'll upload a picture of it.

The hard drive you are talking about is an SSD, its amazing.
Why do you need a water cooler. fans are usually sufficient.
You will never use more than 16gb RAM. Staph.

I'm glad I don't need a water cooler
