Intro:
Well, you've seen the title. I bet you my pet cow that the first thing you thought was "why do you need a guide to draw such simple-minded and stupid and basic figures? They're are the easiest things to ever draw next to a complex diagram of Ken's brain. Well, your wrong. I'm not saying that there's a huge amount of skill required to draw one, and I'm not suggesting that it's for simpletons, all that I'm saying is that it 's another form of art.
Stickfigures are a special type of art. Not everyone perceives a stickfigure the same way. One might say that's it's walking while another says that it's actually leaning against the wall. The only skill required in drawing stickfigures is making the audience (or whoever might see it) understand what you're trying to draw.
By the way, the colour of the stickfigure NEVER signifies racial differences. This is what shallow adults think. NEVER be shallow.
Types of Stickfigures:
Oh yeah. You say. There are really different types of stickfigures. Well there are so go away.
1. Classical stickfigure
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
The classical stickfigure is very simple. It requires next to no knowledge of human atomy. It is what people who haven't been chillin' with stickfigures for a few months/years think of when "stickfigure" is mentioned.
2. A-Class Fighter Stick
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
sample Video
These are the first style of fighter sticks. You'll see them most common in fighting (surprise surprise) SWF. films. A-Class fighter sticks are normally long limb'd, tall and small headed. Their bodies are usually only a bit thinner than their heads, making them one of the hardest it get right. I use this style most often (favorite!) and I need to put up with my sister complaining that my stickfigure that's lying down is infact a blob with little bit's sticking out. These stickfigures also feature arms coming out of what seems to be their neck. Well, FYI where are their shoulders?
3. Class-B Fighter Sticks
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Sample Video
These are used about as much as their A-class counterparts. They are about the same stature as the classic sticks but with the filled in head and thick limbs like the A-class fighters. These sticks also feature a somewhat disfigured head.
Big Head Stickfigure
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Sample Video (WARNING: FUNNY!)
These stickfigures are generally used for comedy. Their height varies between too tall and midget. Some people like them short, some like them tall. One things for sure. They have massive heads.
Conclusion
At times stickfigures seem shallow. But, they are nearly the easiest way to make art (ha ha show emotions). They are incredibly versatile and easy to draw/use. They are like people. Draw them one way, they look like a multi martial art superhuman warrior, then draw them a bit differently, only a bit, they look like a comedy act.
Stickfigures are cool.
There's no doubt about that.
