like in a cut scene, you'll just need to make a event page that has nothing on it and that is turned on through a self switch that is turned on after the scene.

use self switches if you can, other wise you'll have like a switch for every cut scene in your game, and add them all up at the end can take up alot and get un organized.
Always use self switches if you can.

The only reason why I would choose vx over xp is for behemoth's costum battle system (turn based) which has everything I look for in a side view bs. (I wish I could edit it for rrmxp 
)
