I sat down today and played what many top people in the gaming community have stated as Game of the Year to, Gone Home. A truly different game that is worth the time invested if you don't mind the lack of gameplay.

good job on the review +
Gone Home reminds me a bit of 7th guest, which was one of the first adventure/puzzle/mystery/horror games that I imprinted on.

Gone Home is my first. :p
It brought me a very unique experience and the mystery of the ending is just so interning! It's not that long of a game either, so you can spend a few hours (1-3) out of your day and complete it. The price tag probably isn't worth it, honestly. $20 on Steam is kinda steep for what it really offers, and to me, price should depend on the amount of time the game takes to complete and it's replayability, which is short on both ends for Gone Home.
